Northern Paradise 5/5Stayed Jun 2017 Leslie B.Vermont and New YorkWhy sit on the terrace provided exclusively for this comfortable and aesthetic two room rental when from the couch next to three huge windows it feels as if one is right there? Cultivated gardens sweep down from the terrace and beyond to groomed and protected wilderness. An extraordinary variety of scarlet, yellow, and black wild birds avail themselves at the feeder at the edge of the terrace and share the space with a small flock of contented ducks, softly clucking away. All is peaceful and quiet. The hosts Carol and Marty are friendly and gracious. There is even a small cutting garden just for the rental. Woodstock is fifteen minutes away. Submitted Jun 30, 2017
Another excellent stay 5/5Stayed Jun 2016 johnlurz Boston, MAI can't say enough about how much we enjoy our time at Clay Hill Corners. This year was the second summer that my partner, dog, and I spent a month in Quechee, and we loved the accessibility to hiking, swimming, restaurants, and all the Upper Valley has to offer. We had a number of guests this year, and they all raved about it. We're already booking again for next summer. A++++ Submitted Jul 19, 2016
Comfort, Beauty, Nature's Landscape, Tranquil, Affordable, Charming, Happy Place 5/5Stayed Aug 2015 Polly G. Carol and Marty provide a little sanctuary at Clay Hill's apartment. I stayed at Clay Hill for several months while I transitioned from living in PA to VT. Carol and Marty made me feel like family. They are gracious, thoughtful, kind and anticipate the needs of a traveler / renter very well. I love their dogs, Ella and Gracie. Their cat Waldo, although wonderfully aloof, sometimes greeted me outside the apartment door. The large windows on the apartment look out to the farm’s blueberry fields and gardens, and on to the woods in the distance. Such a wonderful, tranquil but very alive setting. The parading ducks charmed me, but surprised my little dog with their troop-like movements. Clay Hill is a great location and convenient to rivers to canoe, places to hike - right out the door – or down the road, restaurants and shopping (if interested). The bed is very comfortable and well cared for, as are all the linens. The kitchen is modest but well equipped for simple meals. The living area with TV is very comfortable. I’ve enjoyed every moment here and highly recommend Clay Hill for a retreat, a get-away or a longer stay for pleasure, business, or transition. Wifi works great – I worked remotely during my entire stay. Submitted Jan 12, 2016
Wonderful kids friendly place 5/5Stayed Aug 2015 Fanny M. Fontainebleau France. We wanted to live a family experience in countryside with our kids. We couldn't expect more than staying at Marty and Carol's place. First they are lovely people and very helpful. Second there is a lot of space for kids to play outside safely, discovering works on a farm, animals (there are a lot, ducks, hens, pigs, chicks and friendly dogs) and picking their own blueberries. Thank you Marty for being so patient with their one hundred questions per day! And we love the little private garden to pick up our own salad or veggies! The one bedroom was a little tiny for our four people family, but it was very quiet, well equipped and so convenient. Submitted Aug 26, 2015
Nature Lovers Retreat 5/5Stayed Jul 2015 Ellen&Glen Millis, MA. Stayed for a few days with my 2 dogs while hubby was section hiking the AT. If you have an appreciation for nature, love waking to the sound of clucking hen's, the smell of fields and farms and don't get spooked by a few coyote howls or pig squeals then this is your spot! The views are great, the days relaxing and there's lots to see and explore without even leaving the farm if you don't want too. Although it is a farm with visitors and workers, it's very private and quiet. Both Carole and Marty are friendly, easy going folks. The apartment is simple and clean.....no muss, no fuss....just my style. I'm already looking forward to staying again next year.
Lovely, relaxing home away from home 5/5 Stayed Jun 2015 johnlurz Boston, MA. My partner and I stayed at this Carol and Marty's lovely farm for a month this summer. It was the perfect place to do some quiet work and enjoy summer in Northern New England. Mornings spent with coffee on the adirondack chairs, afternoons with our dog in the Quechee river, evenings at restaurants in Woodstock -- we had an excellent time. The apartment is clean and simple, with all necessary amenities. Marty and Carol are friendly and helpful, always ready with a suggestion or a recommendation should you want it. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back! Submitted Jul 20, 2015

Great for writing 5/5 Stayed Jan 2014 leslie a.I stayed here for a month in mid-winter and found it perfect for writing. The grounds are wonderful for walking, snowshoeing, skiing. Apartment was comfortable, great beds, lovely view of the snowy landscape and river and hills in the distance. Carol and Marty and the two friendly dogs did everything possible to make my stay wonderful. I would recommend this as a great place for a quiet retreat. Beautiful setting and great hosts 5/5Stayed Oct 2013 KsteeleColoradoCarol and Marty were terrific hosts and made us feel right at home. Their farm is a great place to relax and go for walks around their gardens and down to the water. We enjoyed seeing the ducks and chickens. Wonderful getaway close to Woodstock 5/5Stayed Sep 2013 Courtney B.Los Angeles, CaliforniaWe stayed here for three nights after having spent a week on a bike tour throughout much of Vermont. This was a wonderful retreat and home base for us to relax while spending a few days exploring Woodstock and New Hampshire. The farm is quiet and simply lovely and it was so fun to hang out with the chickens, ducks, pigs and dogs. Carol & Marty were wonderful hosts and made us feel really welcome. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to return someday. It's a few minutes' drive to Woodstock and Quechee, but is much more relaxing and reasonable than staying right in town. I found myself missing waking up on the farm for several days after returning home. Submitted Oct 7, 2013
A Wonderful Place to Stay 5/5Stayed Aug 2013 AmyMedford, MAOur family had a great week at Clay Hill Corners in late August. The apartment was very pleasant and clean, and the farm was a great place to relax and explore with our four-year old daughter. Marty and Carol were great hosts, providing advice on nearby attractions and things to do around the farm, while also giving us space to do our own thing. The location is very convenient, within a few minutes' drive of downtown Quechee, and close to nearby Woodstock and Hanover. All are full of fun things to do and see (and eat!), and we easily could have spent another week exploring the area. Close to the farm, we enjoyed swimming and canoeing in North Hartland Lake and walking in the surrounding woods, all owned by the Army Corps of Engineers and only a couple of miles down the road. But most of all, we enjoyed waking up to the sounds of quacking ducks, and enjoying delicious blueberries with our breakfasts as we looked out over the beautiful view from the apartment. And our daughter really misses visiting with the pigs and baby chicks, and running around large expanses of grass with her new golden retriever friend! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Review of Clay Hill Corners Berry Farm in August 5/5Stayed Aug 2013 SteveWestchester, NYWe loved staying at Clay Hill Corners Farm and hope to return soon. Carol and Marty were perfect hosts -- we enjoyed their recommendations (especially the hike to the nearby swimming hole and the lake), and sampling the blueberries, tomatoes, and other greens from their farm. The apartment is very private, clean and comfortable, has a really nice sauna, and eating breakfast and dinner from the back with a view over the farm to the lake was beautiful. Perfect for us that you had a last minute cancellation! It was a great return visit to the Quechee area; I don't think either of us realized how much we had missed it.
